One of my favorite parts of arriving in a new city is the first few blocks after leaving the train station; taking in the smells, the city’s architecture, the birds, the car horns, and the mix of languages that give the place its feeling. How wonderfully distracting those details can be when your suitcase wheels are silent enough to let you hear them.
